September 6, 2017 – A recent Newsday restaurant review praises local new eatery Basil Café as “bewitching enough to be a keeper.” The fare is billed as Persia-Italian and the menu has a split personality to it: Iranian dishes such as zereshk polo (saffron chicken with rice) rub shoulders with pasta, rack of lamb and flatbreads. It’s all good for residents of The Hamlet Estates, who are just minutes away from this unique comfort food for every season. Basil Café doesn’t offer a bar but you are welcome to bring your own bottles. The restaurant is open seven days a week. For more information, call 631-862-4444.
